Luton Town may sit in the relegation zone but they have been in excellent form and have lost just one of their last seven games in all competitions. The Hatters progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup courtesy of a 2-1 victory away at Everton and have been superb in front of their own supporters all season. They’ve already beaten Newcastle and drawn with Liverpool at Kenilworth Road, while Arsenal were pushed all the way and only secured victory with an injury-time winner.

Following a tricky period where they struggled for victories, Brighton have rediscovered their best form and are unbeaten in their last six games. They secured a thumping 5-2 win over Sheffield Utd in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday, with Brazilian striker Joao Pedro fired a hat-trick to take his tally this season to 18 goals. The 22-year-old will present a serious threat to a Luton Town defence that has conceded 38 league goals already this season.

Luton will be in front of their home fans on Tuesday, but a look at the line shows they might need that home-pitch advantage. They will take on Brighton & Hove Albion at 2:45 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Luton's last seven games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Two weeks ago, neither Luton nor Burnley could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Luton's goal came from Carlton Morris at minute 90, while Burnley's was scored by Zeki Amdouni in the 36th.

Meanwhile, Brighton's last game on Monday was all defense as neither team scored a goal. They played to a draw too, finishing 0-0 against Wolverhampton. The result kept Brighton happy, as they haven't lost a game since December 17, 2023.

Luton's record now sits at 4-4-12. Brighton's record is now 8-8-5.

Luton suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Brighton in their previous matchup back in August of 2023. Will Luton have more luck at home instead of on the road?

Brighton’s last game was a 5-2 victory away from home over Sheffield United while being outshot by three in the matchup, 14 to 11.

In its last match on January 27, Luton Town took down Everton FC 2-1 on the road. Everton FC outshot Luton Town 16 to 13. Luton Town’s Cauley Woodrow scored one goal (on one shot) to lead Luton Town in the match.

Both these teams are fresh off wins in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Brighton trounced Sheffield United 5-2, while Luton beat Everton 2-1, both on Saturday. Brighton’s Joao Pedro had a hat trick thanks to a pair of penalty kicks during the game.

The Hatters are now unbeaten for four straight games, but in their only Premier League game this month, they went 1-1 with Burnley. Roberto De Zerbi’s men have a six-game unbeaten streak, but only a pair of 0-0 draws against West Ham and Wolverhampton this month in the EPL.

Luton will be without Lockyer, Andersen, Brown and Nakamba, both injured, as well as Kabore, who is playing in the African Cup of Nations with Burkina Faso. Meanwhile, Brighton will be without the injured March, Veltman, Ansu Fati and Enciso, while Mitoma and Andigra are at the Asian Cup and African Cup of Nations.

Brighton are in seventh place in the Premier League with 32 points, level with Manchester United, one above Chelsea and three above Newcastle and Wolves, as well as three below West Ham. Luton are the first team in the competition's Z-3 with 16 points, four above Burnley, one below Everton and four behind Nottingham.

Brighton on the other side with two wins and a draw in their last games. On January 6, they beat Stoke 4-2 in the FA Cup, with goals from Estupiñán, Dunk and João Pedro (2), while Van Hecke (own goal) and Baker scored. On Monday (22), the draw was goalless at home to Wolverhampton. And on Saturday (27), away from home, they beat Sheffield United in the FA Cup 5-2, with goals from Buonanotte, João Pedro (3) and Welbeck, while Hamer and Osula scored.

Luton Town come into the match with one draw and two wins from their last games. On January 12, away from home, the draw was 1-1 with Burnley, with Amdouni opening the scoring and Morris equalizing. On Tuesday (16), away from home, the win came against Bolton Wanderers, with goals from Chong and Ogbene, while Charles pulled one back, in the FA Cup. And also in the FA Cup, on Saturday (27), Luton won 2-1 away to Everton, with Mykolenko, in an own goal, opening the scoring, Harrison equalizing for Everton and Woodrow, at the end of the game, putting Luton into the next round.
